Since December 23rd, Bylaw has been ticketing protesters for using megaphones; in response, the community banded together immediately, establishing the community defense fund to cover legal fees.

 

People usually associate Palestinian groups with news, raucousness, and rage, but they hardly consider the people who are behind them. Nobody has ever focused on the whole scope of their activities, which includes auctions, art events, and much more than just protests. The documentary centers on three individuals: a protester whose life was impacted by the community, an artist who donates her artwork to the defence fund, and an anonymous organizer who assists in planning the protests and raising money

Since Director Rama Al-Zu'bi is a Canadian-Palestinian with family back home and a new family she found through the organizing, she felt compelled to tell stories of our local Palestinian community.
